The airfoil creates a pressure differential, generating lift.
I am really happy with how this came out, even with the strong language.
I always liked the Sunday Calvin and Hobbeses where there was no dialog. Watterson was really good at those. Consider this a pseudo-homage. Why am I on such a C&H kick lately?
Want to know how big a nerd I am? When I scripted this week’s strip, I originally had it set at sunset, because the three times I’ve flown to England, I’ve left at night and arrived in the afternoon (time zones!), but then I remembered that Sharon would be flying East, which means the fourth panel wouldn’t make sense, because the Sun sets in the West. So I made it sunrise instead. It’s just a different gradient. No biggie.
