Lawdy doo, I didn’t think people would actually respond to my guesty request. But whadya know, longtime reader and frequent e-mailer Al Nennig, who isn’t even somebody I know personally, but who claims to be a big fan and votes every day, did exactly that. Bravo, I say. Now we don’t have to go a whole month without an update.
The new site will have a miscellaneous images slash fan art section, so hopefully, I’ll have a permanent link to Al’s contribution on the site before this newsie gets scrolled off.

I strongly suggest popping over to the Watch Ray Purge section of Hindrances to learn why you absolutely must see LotR: Return of the King on pain of death.

Happy New Year, forks. Real quick, to the people coming in from buzzComix, TMABB is going to be returning on Monday the 5th. Kinda silly of me that I had the ad go up on the 1st. I hadn’t realized at the time that I wouldn’t be updating again until I got back to school. Oopsie.
But perhaps this can be a mixed blessing, because now you should all have a chance to go through the archives before the story resumes next week. The first thirty or so look pretty awful, artsy-wise-speaking, but then, so do the early Calvin and Hobbes strips, so there you go. It gets much better later on anyway.
Also, remember to vote every day. Not only will this allow you to read a very special bonus comic mini-series starring everyone’s favorite mentally deficient super-cat, but you’ll also be helping Tee-mab bring in much needed traffic.
One last thing, I’ve got another guest comic from Al Nennig sitting on my harddrive right now. We’re in the process of changing hosts, though, so I haven’t gotten around to posting it yet. As soon as we’re all moved over, I’ll be sure to put it up.
Vote vote vote!

If you’re reading this, then Hindrances has successfully switched over to its new home at FuitadNET. Looking for a good place to stick your site? Well, you can’t go wrong with the host that Pierre built, mostly ’cause it’s dirt freakin’ cheap considering the inexorable hoards of love orcs he throws at you. Hard to believe this is the same guy from that incident way back that he probably doesn’t want to see mentioned on a site his company is hosting.
There’ll probably be some broken images while I slowly get the site working on the new server. I hate it when I have to adapt to new directory structures and nuancically different global PHP vars. I’m hoping to have everything back to normal by Sunday, just in time for the start of the ad campaign at Ctrl-Alt-Del.
Final note: A big ol’ huggy thanks goes out to Dr. Sir James DeRose Esq. DMD, old high school friend and all around cool dude, who hosted Hindrances on his own server for, what, a year? Two years? And all while asking for so little in return that I couldn’t help but feel bad when I got into the habit of killing his bandwidth every other month. We’ll miss ol’ Faubus. Thems were good times.
I found out who you’re gonna be living with, DeRose. Poor bastard. You have my deepest sympathy.

Wow, look at all the new people! Howdy, folks who are coming in from C+A+D. You’ll probably notice that the most recent comic dates back to the Stone Age, that is, November. We’re actually coming out of hiatus tomorrow, so now’s a good time to take a quick go through the archives and get up to speed on the story. Yes, the first bunch are poorly drawn, and in several cases poorly written, but that’s true of any comic series. Why, just look at the early Calvin and Hobbes strips, or the first few Far Sides. Abysmal, really.
Regardless, while expensive advertising campaigns do help bring in readers, nothing helps more than people VOTING. So VOTE VOTE VOTE!! It’s the only way you’ll get to read the bonus comic, Paul’s Big Adventure!
See you all tomorree.

Where’s Ray???
It’s the question on everyone’s lips, which is weird, because speech originates from the larynx. At any rate, if that’s what you’re wondering, well, here’s my excuse. It’s a rich one, but hey.
So, like, remember back in December when I went on hiatus because I was too busy? See, I thought back then that I’d be able to update better during January ’cause I wouldn’t have any work to do outside of class. Wouldn’t you know it, now I’m so bored that I can’t get motivated.
That’s why I’m posting this little newsie right now. I figger, if I’ve got the promise of a Monday update sitting smack diddle right there on the site, it might force me to follow through. So there you have it: I promise to update on Monday.
I’m so screwed…
